Elizabeth K. Kamaka, DVM

Dr. Kamaka is a 1994 graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Her training followed the non-domestic animal track including work experience at Sacramento Zoo, Micke Grove Zoo (Lodi), California Regional Primate Center and UC Davis Raptor Center. She fell in love with the Seattle area during her senior preceptorship at Woodland Park Zoo.
Since moving to the area in 1995, Dr. Kamaka has provided veterinary services for Woodland Park Zoo, Sarvey Wildlife Center, The Cockatoo Rescue & Sanctuary, Washington Ferret Rescue and Shelter, Pacific Northwest Herpetological Society, Northwest Exotic Bird Society and the local chapter of the American Society of Psittacines. She has worked extensively in bird and exotic companion animal medicine and brings to the table her experience from Bird and Exotic Clinic of Seattle, where she previosly practiced since 2000.
Dr. Kamaka is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, American Association of Zoo Veterinarians, Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians and the Association of Northwest Avian & Exotic Veterinarians.

Cathy A. Johnson-Delaney, DVM DABVP-Avian Practice

Dr. Johnson-Delaney is a 1980 graduate of Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has practiced avian and exotic companion animal medicine in the greater Puget Sound area for more than 25 years. Dr. Johnson-Delaney is board certified by the Am Bd of Vet Practitioners in Avian Practice and received the 2003 Exotic DVM of the Year Award.
During her career, she has advanced the cause of exotic animal practice through her involvement with the Association of Avian Veterinarians, the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, and the laboratory animal field. She is considered one of the world’s leading authorities on endocrine disease and multi-neoplastic syndrome in ferrets and she is deeply involved in continuing clinical research. She serves as Medical Director for the Washington Ferret Rescue & Shelter, consulting veterinarian for the Oregon Tiger Sanctuary and the Pacific Primate Sanctuary.
Dr. Johnson-Delaney is an international speaker on all aspects of nontraditional companion animals and is the author of the best-selling Exotic Companion Medicine Handbook for Veterinarians, published by Zoological Education Network. She is a member of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, American Association of Zoo Veterinarians, American Society of Laboratory Animal Practitioners, American Association of Laboratory Animal Science, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians and the Association of Northwest Avian & Exotic Veterinarians.

Kim Murphy, Veterinary Technician and Office Manager
Kim was raised in Shoreline where she now resides with her partner and newborn daughter Samantha. Kim was raised with large parrots but has a particular fondness for ferrets and small mammals. Kim brings her 10 years experience with exotic animal medicine to our clinic. She also volunteers at The Cockatoo Rescue & Sanctuary, Seattle Animal Shelter and the Washington Ferret Rescue & Shelter. Kim is a licensed veterinary technician.

Crissy Minor, Veterinary Assistant
Crissy was born & raised in the Everett area where she still resides with her life partner. Parrots are Crissy’s passion, since she was raised with large hookbills, but all exotic animals fascinate her. Her educational goal is to become an exotic animal veterinarian. Crissy has volunteered at HOWL (PAWS), Seattle Humane Society, Puget Sound Greyhound Rescue and the Washington Ferret Rescue & Shelter.
